The Touch Estimating system 'TES' offers depots the chance to dramatically improve the productivity, speed and accuracy of their estimating personnel.
The estimator's clipboard is replaced by a rugged hand held computer the size and weight of a paperback book. Which is used to collect estimates for transfer to office PC's for processing and distribution. Each TouchPC is weather proof and 'ruggedised', and ideal for use in the depot environment.
At the touch of a finger estimators choose from pre loaded options, to enter container, damage and repair details. Prices are calculated from customers tariffs stored in the TouchPC's memory. It is also possible to store current IICL damage and repair guidelines for every component.
To select damage location (CEDEX location code), the estimator touches the appropriate part of a diagram of the container section.
TES uses plain language (a top rail is a 'top rail' and a dent is a 'dent'). Because there are no complicated codes to learn, an estimator can be using TouchPC within minutes and up to full speed within a few days
There is an option for data to be entered in Spanish, French or other languages. Data collected is automatically translated into CEDEX, Hapag Lloyd, Maersk, Evergreen and Grimaldi codes.
With TES, the estimator doesn't have to code or price an estimate (unless to manually over-ride tariff). Estimates are transferred from TouchPC to PC in seconds. Then without the need for office staff to type in details from a hand written sheet, estimates can be coded, printed, faxed, e-mailed or Cedex'ed to the depots customers within minutes.
TES is fast, labour saving, and accurate.
